Job summary
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Business and Talent Attraction / Investment Promotion, the Assistant Manager, Business and Talent Attraction / Investment Promotion will mainly be responsible for providing general administrative support for the Investment Promotion Unit (IPU) including client database maintenance, diary management for meetings, booking of passage and hotels for investment promotion visits by senior officers, logistics for investment promotion events and visits by InvestHK officers. The Assistant Manager, Business and Talent Attraction / Investment Promotion will also assist the IPU in desk research to identify key industry trends, relevant industry events, and target companies; respond to enquiries from potential investors; and maintain the client database. The successful candidate is expected to be hands-on and working to often hard deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head and the Deputy Head of Business and Talent Attraction / Investment Promotion in driving the promotion work for inward investment to Hong Kong in the geographic markets under the purview of HKETO, i.e. Australia and New Zealand;
- Conduct research to identify key industry trends, relevant industry events, lists of target companies, and collect market intelligence and information on the sectors of interest;
- Assist in organising marketing and investment promotion activities as well as talent attraction activities;
- Handle enquiries from potential investors in a timely manner;
- Update and maintain the client database and compile statistics for various investment promotion reports;
- Provide administrative support to the IPU;
- Maintain proper records of the contacts and leads generated as well as the aforementioned activities via various means including CRM, emails and file record;
- Support the Dedicated Team for Attracting Businesses and Talents / Investment Promotion Unit in the HKETO and the HKETO’s initiatives on talent attraction and other activities as and when required; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head and the Deputy Head of Business and Talent Attraction / Investment Promotion.
Entry Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, preferably in business administration, economics and finance, international relations, or international marketing & communications. A higher degree would be an advantage;
- At least 2 years’ full-time post qualification work experience in administrative support; marketing and event management; or trade & investment promotion;
- Experience of living and/or doing business in Hong Kong would be an asset;
- Knowledge of and experience in investment or economic development would be an advantage;
- Fluent in written and spoken English;
- Good command of computer skills and knowledge in MS Office software;
- Willing to travel within the area under the HKETO's purview and to Hong Kong; and
- Candidate must be eligible to take up employment in Australia.
Terms of Appointment
The successful candidate will be offered a contract with a six months probationary period.
Benefits
Annual leave loading at 17.5%.
