In today's industrial and smart city environments that use increasingly complex and interdependent devices, the reliability and safety of products and systems are of paramount importance. As such, it is strongly believe that the establishment of the Hong Kong Chapter will further accelerate technological advancements related to reliability and safety, and that CAiRS, as the local leading organization in reliability and safety R&D, is best placed to coordinate this initiative in Hong Kong.
CAiRS established in 2020 by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University under the HKSAR Government’s InnoHK and support by HKEIA, an initiative to transform the city into a global innovation powerhouse. Its key research collaborating institution is the University of Maryland, College Park, USA.
IEEE is the world's largest technical association, with publications, conferences, and technical communities on a world-wide scale. The Reliability Society consists of anyone that has an interest in making “things” reliable. These are members of industry, government, and academia that perform research, development, and implementation of cutting-edge techniques to improve the life of systems and products. This involves many disciplines. The IEEE Hong Kong Section, IEEE Reliability Society Chapter will be one of the top signature to attract investment to HK.
