Thai dessert brand After You Dessert Cafe chooses Hong Kong as first overseas branch

Thai dessert brand After You Dessert Cafe announced today (9 February 2022) that it has opened its first overseas store in Hong Kong, bringing its original dessert taste from Thailand flagship store to local customers.

The new store is located in the heart of Causeway Bay. It offers not only its signature desserts, honey toast and Kakigori (shaved ice) series, but also a selection of beverages introduced from Thailand, as well as many packaged food products for customers to take away, so that they can enjoy a taste of Thailand anytime, anywhere.

General Manager, Ms Jodi Lee, said, “Hong Kong is one of our founder, May’s favorite cities. That’s why we decided to open our first overseas branch here, to bring the much loved After You flavors from Thailand to Hong Kong.”

She added, “As the first establishment abroad, our new branch must recreate the flavours one finds in the Bangkok flagship store. This entails a lengthy period of preparation, and veterans from the Thai stores flying to Hong Kong to train new team members. Most of the ingredients, such as loaves of honey toast and mangoes, are imported from Thailand. In addition, most items are prepared according to the original recipes, so that customers can enjoy our desserts like the ones in Thailand.”

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Mr Charles Ng said, “We are happy to see a famous Thai brand has chosen Hong Kong to open its first overseas branch. Hong Kong has a dynamic food and beverage market with sophisticated local consumers who are familiar with Thai brands and food. It is an ideal place for After You to expand overseas. I wish it every success and beyond.”
