The opening of GREE Mingzhu Lifestyle Showroom in Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon

Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) announced today (26 May 2025) that Mainland appliances enterprise GREE Electric Appliances has opened its first comprehensive lifestyle showroom outside the Mainland in Hong Kong—the GREE Mingzhu Lifestyle Showroom. This not only deepens its presence in the Hong Kong and Macau but also serves as an international window for the enterprise’s globalization, further expanding into global market and raising the GREE brand’s awareness overseas for its long-term development.

More than 100 representatives from the political and business sectors and industry leaders, including the Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Dr Bernard Chan; Deputy Head of the United Front Work Department of the Zhuhai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, Mr Zou Huanzhong; the Chairwoman of GREE Electric Appliances, Ms Dong Mingzhu; and the Acting Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at InvestHK Ms Loretta Lee, attended the opening ceremony.

Ms Lee welcomed GREE's decision to establish its first comprehensive lifestyle showroom outside the Mainland in Hong Kong. She said, “Under the ‘one country, two systems’ principle, Hong Kong has the distinctive advantages of enjoying strong support of the country and being closely connected to the world. The city fully leverages its roles as a "super connector" and "super value-adder" to assist Mainland enterprises, like GREE, to expand into international markets.”

Managing Director of GREE Electric (H.K.) Co., Ltd, Mr Zheng Wenqiang said, "The establishment of the GREE Mingzhu Lifestyle Showroom shows our confidence in Hong Kong’s future development. The city is not only an international financial centre but also a tourist hotspot and shopping paradise, with unique position as a hub for international trade and shipping. The lifestyle showroom will not only serve local families in Hong Kong but also act as an important platform bridging the brand with overseas markets.”

He added, “As a global trade and financial centre, Hong Kong provides access to a wide range of international businesses and deep pool of international talent, enabling GREE to quickly respond to international market, obtain information on global innovations, and accelerate its brand internationalisation process."

The two-storey GREE Mingzhu Lifestyle Showroom is located in Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon, covering approximately 1,700 square meters. It is currently the largest flagship lifestyle store of GREE outside Mainland market, showcasing a comprehensive range of products including commercial and household items such as central air conditioning, refrigeration and freezing equipment, residential air conditioning, refrigerators, washing machines, kitchen appliances, whole-house water purification systems, and environmental appliances. It also offers immersive experiential space and one-stop after-sales services.

GREE is one of the Chinese manufacturing pioneers in "going out", with operations in over 190 countries and regions. Its self-owned brand exports accounting for as much as 70%. In 2005, GREE established its foothold in Hong Kong, setting up GREE Electric Appliances Sales (Hong Kong) Co Ltd, promoting GREE's appliance products in Hong Kong, manages local sales channels, provides after-sales support, and organises marketing activities. It also oversees sales operations in Southeast Asia.
