Job Summary

The Senior Deputy Head of Business and Talent Attraction / Investment Promotion (Beijing) post is set up in the Beijing Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“BJO”).  The post is responsible for carrying out Invest Hong Kong’s (InvestHK’s) go-global initiatives to facilitate international expansion of Chinese Mainland enterprises in the service areas of BJO, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Gansu and Ningxia.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

1.    To assist the Investment Relations Officer (Beijing) in supporting InvestHK Headquarters and BJO in the execution of business strategies and plans for go-global initiatives, particularly in promoting Hong Kong’s role as a gateway for the Chinese Mainland enterprises to expand into overseas;

2.    To forge and manage strong relationships with key stakeholders including but not limited to the Chinese Mainland local government bodies and authorities related to the service areas covered by BJO, and the industrial and business organisations, to build a cohesive investment promotion network locally; and to leverage the network to organise promotional events and roadshows in the Chinese Mainland cities, including second- and third-tier cities, to identify and engage the target Chinese Mainland enterprises with overseas expansion potential;

3.    To collaborate with local chambers and business associations on the preparatory work and onsite arrangement of the outbound business delegations and assist the delegates in engaging with local stakeholders and business communities through meetings, events and other networking opportunities for identifying potential business partners;

4.    To stay abreast of market trends, regional opportunities, the latest industry information and the government policies in order to provide tailored overseas investment solutions to the Chinese Mainland enterprises such as first-stop landing support, policy facilitation, business networking and resources matching;

5.    To proactively follow up with result-oriented projects and maintain long-term client relationships with the Chinese Mainland enterprises to support their go-global process;

6.    To assist in planning and organising public relations and marketing activities to raise Hong Kong’s profile as a super-connector for the Chinese Mainland enterprises going global;

7.    To collect market intelligence and the latest information on government policies of the service areas covered by BJO, and provide timely updates to Head Office on local market trends and business opportunities; and

8.    To manage clients records and promotional activities systematically, and perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.


Entry Requirements

1.    A Bachelor’s degree from a university or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, International Marketing or related fields; holders of a higher degree would be an advantage;

2.    A minimum of 7 years of relevant full-time work experience in business development, investment promotion, international business, and/or strategic planning; of which 5 years of experience in the government is preferred;

3.    A strong command of written and spoken Chinese and English including spoken Putonghua with excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal and public speaking skills is required; fluency in other languages would be an advantage;

4.    Familiarity with China markets and business environment in Hong Kong is preferred; and the incumbent is required to have duty travels, including but not limited to within the Chinese Mainland and to Hong Kong; and

5.    Candidate must be eligible to take up employment in the Chinese Mainland without arrangement of work visa by the employer and eligible to sign the labor contract with a third party (labor dispatching company).

 

Contract Duration

From the date of employment until 31 March 2029.

Social insurance and housing provident fund.  Selected appointee of this position will sign a labor contract with a third party (labor dispatching company).
