The Yindii application was launched in March 2023 as an acquisition of the Phenix by OnTheList entity (set up in early 2021). The Yindii application originated from Thailand in 2020 with the objective of putting an end to food waste and since then, expanded its operations to Hong Kong.
Food prices are hitting record high while 40 percent of the food we produce end up wasted. Food businesses lose up to 14 percent of their sales. Through Yindii application, food businesses are able to market unsold quality food to customers at affordable prices. It's a win-win-win model: Merchants can make revenues instead of losses; consumers access quality food at affordable price; and climate impact can be reduced.
Yindii’s Hong Kong team shares resources with the Thailand team. Watawaste HK Ltd aims to grow its impact in both markets while its long-term objective is to grow the presence in Asia by launching its solution in new markets.
