Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK), in collaboration with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Tokyo (Tokyo ETO) and with the support of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency in Hong Kong, today (2 September 2026) concluded a three-day mission hosting a high-level Korean innovation and technology (I&T) delegation in Hong Kong to deepen cross-border technology exchanges and strategic co-operation.

The mission builds on the momentum of the last medical and life science mission, organised by InvestHK and the Tokyo ETO in May 2025, as well as a series of sector-specific business missions in recent years. The 16-member delegation comprised C-suite executives, senior leaders and technical experts from 12 Korean frontier technology enterprises, alongside key media representatives. Participating companies operate primarily across AI, robotics, physical AI, industrial automation, data-driven solutions and cybersecurity.

To kick-start commercial dialogue, InvestHK hosted a welcome dinner on August 31 bringing together delegates and key local stakeholders. The Director-General of Investment Promotion, Ms Alpha Lau, said, "Korea and Hong Kong are natural partners in innovation. Korea's world-leading strengths in AI, robotics and advanced semiconductors, complementing Hong Kong's capital, professional services, talent, and unrivalled connectivity under 'one country, two systems', make our city the ideal launchpad for Korean enterprises scaling into the Greater Bay Area and beyond."

During their visit, the delegation undertook a comprehensive exploration of Hong Kong's flagship I&T hubs and strategic infrastructure. At the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, Korean enterprises showcased their innovations directly to local investors and explored venture funding. The mission also toured the Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area Community Liaison Centre and the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited to gain first-hand insights into the Northern Metropolis and its emerging innovation ecosystem, followed by a visit to Cyberport to engage with digital tech park companies and explore the Low-Altitude Economy Application Exhibition Hub.

The Principal Hong Kong Economic and Trade Representative (Tokyo), Ms Gillian Lam, said, "Our office is pleased to support this delegation of Korean I&T companies to Hong Kong. With the rapid advancement of AI and software technologies, Korea and Hong Kong are well positioned to explore new opportunities for innovation and collaboration. This visit provides a valuable platform for businesses from both sides to exchange insights, explore potential partnerships and identify new areas for co-operation. We will continue our efforts to foster closer connections between the Korean and Hong Kong I&T sectors and support businesses in pursuing new opportunities for growth and collaboration."

InvestHK will maintain close dialogue with the delegates to assist Korean enterprises in establishing and expanding their footprint in Hong Kong, further strengthening the city's status as an international I&T hub.
