Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) today (30 June 2026) celebrated the official launch of the ASEAN Chamber of Commerce (Hong Kong) (ACCHK), deepening economic ties between China, Hong Kong, and the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), fostering business dialogues and collaboration.

The ACCHK drives two-way trade and investment between China and ASEAN. It is committed to supporting members and partners in expanding across ASEAN markets, while leveraging Hong Kong's unique institutional framework, networks, and infrastructure.

To promote the development of the Northern Metropolis, the ACCHK established the Northern Metropolis Expert Committee. Today, under InvestHK's facilitation, the ACCHK, the Northern Metropolis Co-ordination Office, and the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park jointly hosted a guided visit to the Northern Metropolis, attracted over 100 ASEAN delegates and business representatives to participate.

ASEAN has been Hong Kong's second-largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years, with total bilateral merchandise trade reaching $1,668.5 billion in 2025. As a key node of the Belt and Road Initiative, the region's economic vitality, young population, and strong demand for infrastructure align well with the Initiative's vision of connectivity and shared development. Furthermore, Hong Kong is an important destination for ASEAN investment. In the first half of 2026, the number of ASEAN companies successfully assisted by InvestHK in setting up or expanding their operations increased by nearly 30% compared to the same period last year. InvestHK will continue to support business chambers, facilitate the connection with development opportunities, support Chinese Mainland enterprises in going global, and promote two-way investment within the region.
