Strong Investment Momentum in Hong Kong Forging New Paths with Global Businesses

20.07.2026
CE Reception 1 S

InvestHK hosted its annual International and Mainland Businesses Welcome Reception on 25 June, bringing together over 380 senior representatives from global enterprises. We welcomed them to set up or expand their businesses in Hong Kong, and thanked them for the trust and confidence they have placed in the city’s business environment.

Officiating the reception, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr John Lee, highlighted Hong Kong’s enduring competitive edge. He emphasised the city’s open and business-friendly ecosystem, simple and low tax regime, and a common law system that seamlessly connects with international financial centres. The city’s robust strengths and immense opportunities are reflected in its rising international rankings.

Capitalising on these strategic advantages, InvestHK will continue to promote Hong Kong’s unique role as a premier two-way investment hub and bridge cross-border markets by facilitating the “bringing in” of foreign investment while actively supporting Chinese Mainland enterprises to “go global”.

Closely aligned with the country’s 15th Five-Year Plan and the key measures of the Policy Address, the department will focus on a three-pronged strategy to drive Hong Kong’s high-quality economic development.

A Three-pronged Strategy

1.    Driving Innovation and Technology (I&T) and the New Economy

Aligning with the National 15th Five-Year Plan to drive growth across I&T, life and health technology, the startup ecosystem, and new industrial platforms like the Northern Metropolis, harnessing new quality production forces to fuel Hong Kong’s next wave of growth.

2.    Financial and Professional Services

Consolidating Hong Kong’s position as an international financial centre and innovative financial hub, while connecting the professional services ecosystem to create a virtuous cycle of ‘finance + technology + professional services’.

3.    Going Global and Global Network

Facilitating the tangible outcomes of the GoGlobal Task Force to assist Mainland enterprises in expanding globally, while continuing to deepen engagement in traditional European and American markets as well as emerging Belt and Road markets.
