Head of Family Office, Southeast Asia

Job Summary

Head of Family Office, Southeast Asia will be joining the overseas team of FamilyOfficeHK at the Jakarta ETO under its Dedicated Team for Attracting Businesses and Talents / Investment Promotion Unit, to help Family Offices from Southeast Asia set up and expand their presence in Hong Kong. He/ she will work closely with the Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) global network and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Offices (HKETO) in major cities around the world.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. To engage and assist target Family Offices in Southeast Asia in establishing or expanding their operations in Hong Kong, providing high-quality services and support, as well as execute their landing in Hong Kong;
   
   
2. To proactively reach out to targets through marketing activities, promotional campaigns, and individual visits, and to identify and generate new leads for target Family Offices while maintaining updated information on activities, status, targets, and feedback to track KPIs;
   
   
3. To coordinate with industry partners, government bodies, and relevant parties in Southeast Asia to participate in promotional events, such as round-tables, seminars, and duty visits, to promote Hong Kong as a global hub for Family Offices and identify target opportunities;
   
   
4. To assist InvestHK Head Office and the Head of Business and Talent Attraction / Investment Promotion in driving inward investment promotion and talent attraction efforts into Hong Kong from markets under the purview of Jakarta ETO, covering all sectors identified by InvestHK Head Office;
   
   
5. To provide timely advice and practical assistance to potential investors and to organise or support investment promotion visits by InvestHK Head Office;
   
   
6. To monitor markets developments, trends, regulatory changes, and business intelligence while gathering market feedback and business sentiments, in order to effectively address client needs regarding Family Offices in Southeast Asia; and to collaborate with the Headquarters Family Office team in Hong Kong on investment promotion activities and other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Global Head (Family Office);
   
   
7. To manage systematic records of contacts, leads, and promotional activities, provide administrative and reporting support for investment promotion and HKETO initiatives as required, and perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers;
   
   
8. Support the HKETO in attracting talents to Hong Kong; and
   
   
9. Support the HKETO activities as and when required.
   
   

The ideal candidate should

1. Possess strong track record of business development, generating leads and successfully managing client relationships in Southeast Asia;
2. Have good presentation and public speaking skills to represent InvestHK to speak at different Family Office related activities;
   
   
3. Have the ability to be discreet and respectful of UHNWIs' privacy and the ability for the latter to entrust him/her with handling of their queries and issues;
   
   
4. Possess the ability to manage multiple touchpoints and respond quickly to changes in priorities, and that to work in cross-cultural environment and experience in managing needs and dealing with demanding requests from clients;
   
   
5. Have previous experience in collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders on event management, client support and outreach programmes;
   
   
6. Be able to work independently under pressure to meet performance targets and as a team player; and
   
   
7. Be required to travel in the region.

Entry Requirements

1. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent; a higher degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Law, Accounting or Marketing would be an advantage;
   
   
2. A minimum of 6 years of proven working experience in international sales and/or business development;
   
   
3. Excellent presentation and communication skills in English; proficiency in any Southeast Asia languages would be an advantage;
   
   
4. Relevant experience in and broad knowledge of Southeast Asia are important; experiences of living and/or doing business in Hong Kong would be an asset; and
   
   
5. Eligible to take up employment in Indonesia without arrangement of work visa by the employer.

 
Terms of Appointment

On a contract basis as locally-engaged staff of the Jakarta ETO up to 31 March 2029.
