The founder Mr Mark Sinclair said that the business idea came from his own personal experience when Mark, his wife and friends go out to explore new districts and aren’t familiar with the local bars. In order to find new bars and happy hour deals, he has created an app to find local happy hours using Geo location technology.
Mr Sinclair said, “I want to create a community that supports Hong Kong’s food and beverage (F&B) sector via the app. The new app not only helps customers, like me, to find the best happy hour deals in a quick and easy way, but also backs bars and restaurants to gain traffic and support. It benefits both consumers and owners of both bars and restaurants.”
He added, “Over the next one or two years, we will be expanding our footprint in Hong Kong with more bars joining the 400 listed in the app. As the world opens up again and social distancing restrictions ease, we look to bring happiness further afield; expanding new Asia Pacific markets including the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Singapore.”
Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Mr Charles Ng said, “The launch of the new app is another showcase of how technology application can benefit our life and business operations. Hong Kong is both an F&B capital and an ICT hub in Asia, offering a perfect environment for innovative start-ups like Happy Hour Hong Kong. I wish it every success and beyond.”
