The Department of Justice is committed to the promotion and development of the wider use of mediation to resolve disputes. To this end, the Department has been organising a range of activities to enhance the public awareness of the advantages of mediation.
The “Mediate First” Pledge Event is one of the major biennial events of the Department to promote mediation in Hong Kong. Under the theme “Mediate First – Let’s Do This Together”, the coming “Mediate First” Pledge Event 2023 comprises a full-day forum with a drama on mediation, a Star Logo Award Presentation and “Mediate First” Pledge Signing Ceremony and a Mediation Information Fair.
5.5 Continuing Professional Development (“CPD”) points of Mediation Forum have been awarded by Hong Kong Mediation and Arbitration Centre, Hong Kong Mediation Centre, Mainland - Hong Kong Joint Mediation Center, International Dispute Resolution and Risk Management Institute and the Law Society of Hong Kong.
3 CPD points for morning session and 2.5 CPD points for afternoon session of Mediation Forum have been awarded by Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Limited.
