Dalton School Hong Kong

Dalton School Hong Kong (DSHK) is a child-centred, dual-language school that cultivates global-minded learners and thinkers. DSHK has a close collaboration with Tsinghua University Primary School. All students are expected to become bilingual and biliterate, excel across all academic areas in Chinese and English, and demonstrate socio-cultural competence by respecting and valuing differences among people and cultures.

The Dalton Plan, created by Helen Parkhurst in the early 20th century in the United States, has been adopting in the school’s daily practice. The Dalton Plan is based on a strong belief that whenever children are given responsibility for their learning, they instinctively seek the best way of achieving it and follow through, leading to success. Teachers and students at DSHK work together towards individualised goals that help develop their mind, body and spirit.

Everyone in the Dalton community lives the motto and takes the lead to achieve life-long learning: “I am not led, I lead.”
