Vice President (Branding and Content)

Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) is looking for a proactive, experienced and enthusiastic candidate to join our Branding and Content team as Vice President.

Your key role is to assist the team in implementing marketing and communications strategies for attracting Chinese Mainland and overseas businesses to invest in Hong Kong through content marketing, as well as working with colleagues across InvestHK Headquarters, Chinese Mainland and overseas offices, stakeholders and business partners.

You will need to demonstrate: 

  1. proven experience in content marketing, copywriting, translation as well as planning and implementing marketing and social media campaigns;
  2. excellent writing and communications skills in English and Chinese;
  3. proficiency in liaising with internal and external stakeholders and vendors; and
  4. ability of working independently, excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, a proactive attitude, good interpersonal and co-ordination skills, strong business acumen and work ethics.

Duties

  1. To develop and update marketing materials for InvestHK, taking into account new government policies and the latest developments in Hong Kong’s business environment;
  2. To provide support to content marketing, including editing, translating and proofreading of marketing collaterals and publications;
  3. To develop, design and prepare social media posts with graphics across different social media channels;
  4. To identify, manage and work with external agencies, including production houses and vendors, on advertisement artwork and other marketing collaterals; 
  5. To co-ordinate with Headquarters, as well as Chinese Mainland and overseas teams and compile reports;
  6. To provide administrative support, such as handling procurement matters and settle payments; and
  7. To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.

Entry Requirements

  1. Three years of relevant full-time work experience gained in marketing and communications, advertising or editorial roles;
  2. A Bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, preferably in journalism, marketing, communications, translation, advertising or a related field;
  3. Proficiency in photo editing / graphic design tools (e.g. Adobe Suite, Canva) is preferred; 
  4. Familiarity of implementing effective strategies on digital media and other social media platforms;
  5. Meet the language proficiency requirements of “Level 2” results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) or equivalent (see Notes (a) to (c));
  6. Proficiency in translation between English and Chinese; knowledge of other language(s) would be an advantage; and
  7. Proficiency in English and Chinese word processing, and in the applications of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Note

  1. Level 5 or above in Chinese Language of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the Use of Chinese (UC) paper of the CRE. Level 5 or above in English Language of the HKDSEE is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the Use of English (UE) paper of the CRE.
  2. Grade C or above in Use of English of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) or in English Language of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level) is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. Grade C or above in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the HKALE is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UC paper of the CRE.
  3. An overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in the same sitting in the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-year validity period of the test is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. The IELTS test result must be valid on any date during the application period. 


Terms of Appointment

Successful applicant will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for three months and the term will be extended up to an accumulative period of not more than 24 months subject to satisfactory performance and at the discretion of Invest Hong Kong.  Under normal circumstances, there will usually be further renewal of contract, subject to the performance and conduct of the applicant, and the service need of the department.


Fringe Benefits

  1. An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract.  Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and
  2. Applicant appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave and the entitlement of annual leave will be calculated on pro-rata basis for appointment less than 12 months.  Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.
