Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) is looking for dynamic and high-calibre professionals to join us as Senior Vice President/ Vice President, Global Connect.  You will be responsible for carrying out InvestHK’s go global initiatives to facilitate international expansion of Chinese Mainland enterprises.

Duties

  1. To collaborate with key stakeholders such as government bureaux and departments of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Economic and Trade Offices (ETOs), Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Team Hong Kong partners and the Chinese Mainland and overseas authorities to identify potential business partners, target Chinese Mainland enterprises with overseas expansion potentials, as well as overseas enterprises seeking to expand into Chinese Mainland; 
  2. To engage and facilitate target Chinese Mainland enterprises in their establishment in Hong Kong and overseas expansion, as well as target overseas enterprises in their establishment in Hong Kong and expansion in Chinese Mainland;
  3. To collaborate with industry partners, key stakeholders and relevant organisations to organise promotional activities and events, such as roundtables, seminars and sponsored events, to promote the go-global initiatives and attract overseas enterprises to establish presence in Hong Kong;
  4. To collaborate with ETOs, overseas investment promotion agencies, local and overseas chambers and business associations to organise and lead outbound business delegations of Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland enterprises to emerging markets such as Middle East, Southeast Asia and beyond to assist enterprises to explore local business opportunities;  
  5. To collect market intelligence and the latest information on government policies, and provide timely updates to Chinese Mainland and overseas enterprises and relevant parties on local market trends and regional opportunities; and 
  6. To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.

Entry Requirements

  1. Five years of relevant full-time work experience in business development, investment promotion, Chinese Mainland / international business, and/or strategic planning;
  2. Bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, International Markets or related fields.  A higher degree would be an advantage;
  3. Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, including spoken Putonghua is required.  Fluency in other languages would be an advantage;
  4. Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills; and
  5. Familiarity with China market, especially with government relations experience is preferred.

A candidate will be considered for either a Senior Vice President or a Vice President position depending on the experience and qualifications demonstrated.

Terms of Appointment

Successful applicant will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for three months and the term will be extended up to an accumulative period of not more than 24 months subject to satisfactory performance and at the discretion of Invest Hong Kong.  Under normal circumstances, there will usually be further renewal of contract, subject to the performance and conduct of the applicant, and the service need of the department.

Fringe Benefits

  1. An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract.  Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and
  2. Applicant appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave and the entitlement of annual leave will be calculated on pro-rata basis for appointment less than 12 months.  Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.
