InvestHK is looking for a passionate, high-calibre, result-oriented Marketing and Public Relations (“PR”) professional to join the global Family Office (“FO”) Team in Hong Kong as Senior Vice President (Thought Leadership, Marketing and Public Relations), Family Office. In this exciting role, you will need to deploy your superb thought leadership, communications, marketing and PR skills to attract and support Chinese Mainland and overseas companies in establishing and expanding their operations in and through Hong Kong.
The Role
Reporting to the Global Head, Family Office, you will be responsible to contribute to your team’s overall key performance indicators (“KPIs”) and objectives. You will work closely with other FamilyOfficeHK Team members in Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland, and overseas and collaborate with and leverage other sector teams at InvestHK Headquarters, as well as our partners from global network in 35 cities around the world.
You will need to demonstrate:
- Powerful thought leadership and management skills, and the ability to develop briefs and insights for target audiences;
- Solid knowledge and experience in formulation of global integrated marketing and PR campaign strategies as well as the execution of promotional campaigns in Chinese Mainland and overseas;
- Strong business acumen, marketing and PR skills with demonstrable knowledge and passion in helping develop the FO industry;
- A proven track record of forging, developing and managing strong collaboration with key stakeholders;
- Excellent skills to translate business priorities of FamilyOfficeHK into global investment promotion, PR and marketing programmes that appeal our target audiences;
- Familiarity of implementing effective strategies on digital media and other social media platforms;
- Excellent communication skills (English and Chinese), and a proven ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment;
- Knowledge of Hong Kong’s business environment and the FO ecosystem;
- A self-starter with a strong ownership and hands-on approach, capable of operating both strategically and at execution level; and
- Resilience and ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines, and flexible to work across time zones with our global network.
Duties
- To develop and produce thought leadership content, briefs, insights, marketing, PR and media materials on policy measures, offerings and investment opportunities for FOs, as well as other communication materials for FamilyOfficeHK;
- To formulate and implement global integrated promotion, marketing and PR campaign strategies and plan to convey our sales messages to the audience in targeted markets in Chinese Mainland and overseas;
- To identify, build and deepen relationship with relevant stakeholders;
- To identify, oversee and work with external agencies, including marketing and PR agencies, production houses and vendors to deliver effective global campaigns;
- To manage and update the content of the websites, such as the FamilyOfficeHK website, and support the website revamp project to enrich the content of the website, enhance navigation for better user experience, improve relevance and boost visibility among target audiences;
- To help develop, facilitate and manage the content and communications in various platforms, such as the FamilyOfficeHK Community platform, to maximise synergy and engagement with key stakeholders on line;
- To support the team on media interviews, press materials, news monitoring and on written materials to key stakeholders; and
- To perform related administrative tasks and other ad hoc duties as requested.
Entry Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent. A post-graduate degree holder in communications, marketing, PR related disciplines and/ or holder of relevant professional qualifications would have an advantage;
- Six (6) years relevant full-time work experience in promotion, communications, marketing, and PR. Previous experience in project management, or professional background in the financial services industry would be an advantage;
- Knowledge and experience of working with agencies and contractors on marketing/ PR campaign development and execution;
- Knowledge and experience in FO, private wealth, asset management and private banking would be advantage;
- Proficiency in photo editing/ graphic design tools (e.g. Adobe Suite, Canva) is preferred; and
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluency in English and Putonghua is a must. Proficiency in Cantonese and knowledge of other language(s) would be an advantage.
Terms of Appointment
Successful applicant will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for three months and the term will be extended up to an accumulative period of not more than 24 months subject to satisfactory performance and at the discretion of Invest Hong Kong. Under normal circumstances, there will usually be further renewal of contract, subject to the performance and conduct of the applicant, and the service need of the department.
Fringe Benefits
- An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and
- Applicant appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave and the entitlement of annual leave will be calculated on pro-rata basis for appointment less than 12 months. Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.
