Beijing-based smart logistics AI Robotics company uses Hong Kong to expand global business

Beijing-based smart logistics AI Robotics company Geek+ said that it has expanded its operation in Hong Kong, leveraging the city’s strategic location and international status to cope with the company’s global expansion.

Geek+ provides a comprehensive line of logistics robots and solutions to help businesses realise smart logistics transformation. It has undergone rapid expansion evident from a big leap in staff size and revenues since the opening of its Asia-Pacific regional headquarters in Hong Kong two and a half year ago, according to its VP, Managing Director of Overseas Business, Mr Lit Fung.

Mr Fung said, "We started as a team of three employees in Hong Kong and now our workforce has grown to 60 employees. Our revenues have also increased fivefold since we started in 2018 while our clientele spread to cover more than 30 countries worldwide.”

He explained, "Hong Kong is strategically located in the centre of Asia, with superb connectivity to not only the Mainland and the APAC markets but many major business cities around the world. Secondly, being one of the world’s pre-eminent trading centres, we saw many benefits in terms of a free flow of capital and goods between Hong Kong and international markets.”

He added, “Hong Kong has an abundance of international talent which allows us to access to a large talent pool of people who understand the international culture and who can communicate and work with overseas clients. We now have offices in Germany , the UK, the US and Singapore with 50 employees already managing our overseas offices, we look forward to the expansion of our business in Hong Kong and opening of new branch offices in other regions like Taiwan, Korea, and Australia via the city in early next year.”

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion, Mr Charles Ng, said, "We are happy to see the expansion of Geek+ in Hong Kong. With Hong Kong’s focus on innovation and leading edge technology, as well as its world-class infrastructure, sound legal system and strong intellectual property right protection foundation, the city is an ideal base for technology companies like Geek+ to grow globally."
