InvestHK is looking for passionate, high-calibre, result-oriented professionals to join its dedicated FamilyOfficeHK Team as a Senior Vice President, Family Office. In this exciting role, you will need to deploy your business development, client servicing and account management skills to make an impact in generating leads and drive client-centric initiatives around customer acquisition, retention and client experience. If you are driven to help make Hong Kong a leading global hub for family offices (“FOs”), this role represents a unique opportunity to help FOs from the Chinese Mainland and overseas set up and expand their presence in Hong Kong.
The Role
You will be pivotal in our efforts to engage with Ultra-High-Net-Worth Individuals (UHNWIs) and FOs globally and contribute to your team’s overall key performance indicators (“KPIs”) and objectives. You will work closely with other FamilyOfficeHKTeam members in Hong Kong, in the Chinese Mainland and overseas and collaborate with and leverage other sector teams at InvestHK Headquarters, as well as our global network in 34 cities around the world.
You will need to demonstrate:
- strong track record in business development, generating leads and successfully managing relationships with UHNWIs and FOs;
- rich experience in managing client relationships independently, along with the ability to provide tailored solutions that address the unique needs and issues of UHNWIs and FOs;
- excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills to represent InvestHK to speak at different FO related events, seminars or interviews;
- the ability to be discreet and respectful of UHNWIs' privacy and the ability for them to entrust you in handling their queries and issues;
- ability to manage multiple touchpoints and respond quickly to changes in priorities;
- ability to work in cross-cultural environment and experience in managing needs and dealing with demanding requests from UHNWIs and/or FOs;
- previous experience in collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders including government bodies on event management, client support and outreach programmes;
- ability to work independently under pressure to meet performance targets and as a team player; and
- willingness to conduct Chinese Mainland and international travel.
Duties
- To engage and facilitate target overseas FOs to assist in their establishment or expansion in Hong Kong, providing high-quality services and support, including timely communication with stakeholders to address inquiries and resolve any arising issues;
- To oversee and manage client accounts to achieve pre-set KPIs concerning both the number and quality of FOs introduced to Hong Kong and served by InvestHK, within defined timeframes;
- To collaborate with industry partners, government bodies, and relevant organisations to organise promotional activities and events, such as roundtables, seminars, sponsored events, and duty visits, focused on positioning Hong Kong as a global hub for FOs, particularly in key target markets, including Chinese Mainland, ASEAN, the Middle East, and other regions;
- To utilise activities and events to generate new leads of target FOs, and maintain updated records of these activities, including their status, objectives, and feedback within the Customer Relationship Management System to facilitate tracking of KPIs by InvestHK;
- To work collaboratively with the Family Office Team to provide training and guidance to less experienced team members, while continuously updating the team on the latest relevant developments and market trends to effectively identify and service client needs related to FOs;
- To collaborate with marketing agencies to ensure that the latest information is accurately reflected on dedicated websites, pitch books, and marketing materials specifically designed for FOs;
- To partner with public relations agencies to regularly update social media accounts and publish news, articles, or events on the FO website, enhancing our visibility and engagement in the international market; and
- To perform any other duties as assigned.
Entry Requirements
- Six years of relevant full-time work experience in investment promotion, account management, or business development;
- Previous experience in supporting overseas UHNWIs and/or FOs in the financial or professional services sectors (preferably in private banking or Family Offices) is highly advantageous;
- Exposure to international markets is essential, and with prior experience in global settings will be considered a strong asset;
- A Bachelor's degree from a Hong Kong university or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Law, Accounting, or Marketing. A higher degree in these fields would be an advantage; and
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, including spoken Putonghua. Fluency in one or more languages pertinent to key target markets (i.e., ASEAN, Middle East, Europe) is a distinct advantage.
Terms of Appointment
Successful applicant will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for three months and the term will be extended up to an accumulative period of not more than 24 months subject to satisfactory performance and at the discretion of Invest Hong Kong. Under normal circumstances, there will usually be further renewal of contract, subject to the performance and conduct of the applicant, and the service need of the department.
Fringe Benefits
- An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and
- Applicant appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave and the entitlement of annual leave will be calculated on pro-rata basis for appointment less than 12 months. Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.
