Events Floor Assistant

Salary: HK$13,735 per month
(Ref: EFA/01/2020)

InvestHK is looking for motivated and energetic candidates to our department.  You will work closely with various teams, providing logistics and administration support for a wide range of promotional activities.

(a)    Managing our meeting rooms, including venue set-up, greeting visitors, serving beverages to visitors and assisting in reception duties;
(b)    Supporting our webinar and events programme, including event administration duties; 
(c)    Supporting our IT and sector teams, including undertaking data entry;
(d)    Assisting in managing inventory and stock taking of office supplies;
(e)    Assisting in managing our storeroom with marketing materials including packing and sending materials to our overseas offices;
(f)    Assisting in administration and clerical duties, including filing, photocopying, sorting and binding of documents; and
(g)    Performing ad hoc tasks as assigned by supervisors.

(Note : The post may be required to work outside normal working hours and carry out outdoor work.)

Entry Requirements  
(a)    Have completed Secondary 5 education, or equivalent;
(b)    Attained Level 2 (Note) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent preferred;
(c)    Be capable of operating computer and familiar with common software like Microsoft Word and Excel; 
(d)    Preference will be given to candidates with relevant working experience in the Government and immediate available.

For appointment purpose, 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 2' in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
Terms of Appointment 
Successful applicant will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for 12 months.  

Fringe Benefits 
(a)    An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract.  Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and
(b)    Applicant appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave.  Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.

Applications submitted by fax, email or post will not be accepted.  Applications not made in the prescribed form/ online or which are incomplete or late will not be considered.  Shortlisted applicants will be invited for selection interviews within six weeks from the closing date of application.  Longer time may be required under certain circumstances, e.g. when a large number of applications are received.  Those who do not receive any invitation to selection interview can assume that their applications are unsuccessful.

(g)    Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
