The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks (HKSTP) organisation was established to offer infrastructural support services to technology based companies and activities, in one convenient location.

Services are comprehensive and range from nurturing technology start-ups through the incubation programmes and providing premises and services in the Science Park for applied research and development activities to the provision of land and premises in the industrial estates for production purposes.

Based in the New Territories, the 22 hectare Science Park's goal is to provide a campus-like environment with end-to-end services to support clusters in four sectors: electronics; information technology and telecommunications; biotechnology and precision engineering.

Facilities include broadband network, wireless LAN, data centre, conference centres, shared R&D equipment and laboratories. Interactive support facilities including the Innovation Centre and Photonic Centre.

Amounting to an investment of some US$2bln, HKSTP aims to provide the perfect infrastructure for science and technological R&D through to commercialisation.
